Give hope this holiday season: improving patient lives, accelerating access to the best care, and investing in research to find a cure
This holiday season is a time to reflect on what truly matters. At Myeloma Canada, our priorities are clear: investing in Canadian research, advocating for faster access to life-saving treatments, and delivering resources that empower patients and families on their care path.
Together, these priorities create a future where Canadians living with myeloma have more options, more time, and more hope. Your support ensures that progress doesn’t pause, and that no one faces myeloma alone.
Investing in Canadian science

Since the 1990s, the number of available drug therapies has grown from just one to more than 15, and average life expectancy has risen from 2-5 years in the early 2000’s to many living 10 years or more today, and that number continues to rise as a new generation of immunotherapies is transforming what’s possible. But innovation doesn’t happen on its own.
Your support helps fund Canadian research that gives patients a future measured in years, not months. In 2025 alone, Myeloma Canada co-funded 6 Canadian myeloma research projects. Every discovery, every new treatment is a lifeline for Canadians with myeloma.
Read this month’s Spotlight on Susanne Carrillo to hear a powerful story of perseverance and advocacy for the best care possible.
Advocating for access
Innovation means little if patients can’t access new treatments. Once a drug is approved by Health Canada, reimbursement can take more than two years. Even then, patients often wait in uncertainty.

This year, Canadians sent over 5,500 emails to provincial and territorial representatives advocating for faster access to life-saving treatments like Carvykti. We organized this email writing campaign, conducted surveys, spoke to national and local media outlets, engaged with government representatives across the country, and submitted critical recommendations to government agencies. Our advocacy pushes to shorten the gap between approval and access, so new therapies don’t remain out of reach.
Improving lives through education
For those living with myeloma, knowledge can have a direct impact on patient lives. It can mean improved outcomes and better quality of life. With your help, we delivered free bilingual education events, webinars, publications, and wellness and empowerment resources to patients and caregivers across Canada. In 2025, we shipped over 16,000 educational resources to hospitals, clinics, and individuals, empowering families to take charge of their health. We also run MC Assistance, a free and secure information line for Canadians whose lives have been impacted by myeloma. In 2025, we responded to 328 information requests in English and French.
This season, your generosity matters more than ever
The holidays are a time for giving. A donation to Myeloma Canada is more than generosity. It’s hope. It’s progress. It’s the promise that no one will face this disease alone.
As we turn the page on 2025…
We are inspired by the strength of our community. Together, we:
- advanced Canadian research that gives people living with myeloma a future measured in years, not months;
- expanded educational programs that empower individuals and families; and
- strengthened our national advocacy efforts so life-saving treatments reach Canadians faster.
This progress is only possible because of you. If you are considering a year-end gift, your support helps ensure that no one faces myeloma alone. Thank you for believing in a future where life with myeloma is not defined by limits, but by possibilities.
