The myeloma community in the media!
Over the past few months, we’ve been deeply moved to see members of our community featured in the media. In April, we shared a series of posts highlighting the story of Emmanuel Mercier from Saguenay (QC) and the concerns expressed by Dr Pavic from Sherbrooke (QC). Across the country, patients and doctors alike are speaking out about the challenges in accessing treatment and care for people living with myeloma.
Discover some of the powerful stories recently shared by our community:

A powerful myeloma story and media campaign reaches new audiences and wins awards
The 2024 campaign “Dying for a Chance to Be a Priority” was a powerful public relations campaign run by Cancer Action Now, a Canadian alliance of patient organizations, professional associations, and life science companies of which Myeloma Canada is a proud member.
The impactful 2024 Cancer Action Now campaign spotlighted the story of Marie-Claude Houle-Beausoleil who is living with myeloma, across a multitude of media platforms. The campaign won the Grand Prize in Public Relations at the awards gala of the Société québécoise des professionnel(le)s en relations publiques (SQPRP), as well as 3rd place for the People’s Choice Award (Prix coup de cœur du public). More importantly, the exposure and attention garnered from the campaign shed light on myeloma, late diagnoses, the importance of clinical trials, and much more. Learn more (in French).
