Access to treatment updates

Rezurock now reimbursed in Ontario and BC!

Rezurock (belumosudil) is a new treatment for chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), a condition which, in myeloma patients, usually occurs following an allogenic stem cell transplant.

Rezurock is now available for reimbursement in both Ontario and British Columbia for adult patients with chronic GVHD who have failed least two prior lines of therapy.  As of November 2025, Quebec also provides funding for this treatment.

We will continue to provide updates to our community as Rezurock becomes available in other jurisdictions.

Access updates on daratumumab combinations for newly diagnosed myeloma!

Daratumumab in combination with bortezomib, lenalidomide and dexamethasone (DVRd) has now undergone two separate reimbursement reviews:

  • in 2024-2025 for newly diagnosed transplant-eligible myeloma patients
  • in 2025-2026 for transplant ineligible patients.

In recent weeks, there have been exciting updates on both indications as they make their way through the drug approval and reimbursement processes.

On February 5th, 2026, DVRd for the treatment of newly diagnosed transplant ineligible myeloma patients, was recommended for reimbursement by Canada’s Drug Agency (CDA), the review body that makes recommendations for all of Canada except Quebec. The Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux (INESSS), the organization that makes reimbursement recommendations for Quebec, has yet to publish a decision on this combination. (see update below) It will now be considered for price negotiations at the pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance (pCPA).

DVRd for the treatment of newly diagnosed myeloma patients undergoing an autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT), was recommended for reimbursement by CDA (though not INESSS) in early 2025, and price negotiations at pCPA subsequently began last July. On January 29, 2026, negotiations concluded successfully “with agreement.” This means the treatment can now be listed by each individual provincial/territorial drug plan.

Myeloma Canada will continue to provide updates as DVRd (transplant eligible) becomes available across the provinces and territories.

News about DVRd reimbursement in Quebec! Update – March 13, 2026

The ministre de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec has decided to add Darzalex (daratumumab) for the treatment of newly diagnosed multiple myeloma in patients eligible for a stem cell transplant to the List of Establishments. It will be used in combination with bortezomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone, and then, as maintenance therapy, in combination with lenalidomide.
This decision goes against the recommendation of INESSS, which had suggested not listing this indication. This means that the indication is now available for reimbursement in health establishments across the province.
