Myeloma Canada joins forces with Service Info-cancer to enhance the support offered by its new MC Assistance program

Myeloma Canada and the Fondation québécoise du cancer join forces to facilitate access to support for French-speaking people affected by cancer. Every day, 11 Canadians are diagnosed with multiple myeloma, the second most common form of blood cancer. This partnership is designed to ensure that even more people affected by multiple myeloma, or those close to them, receive the support, resources and information they need to live better with the disease.

“When a diagnosis of myeloma is made, information about the disease and its management can be daunting. Our partnership with the Fondation québécoise du cancer will help us provide personalized answers to Quebec residents, free of charge. By working together and combining the expertise of our two information services, we will be able to help more people affected by myeloma overcome their difficulties and accompany them through their challenges,” said Jessy Ranger, Director, Health Policy, Advocacy and Patient Services, Myeloma Canada.

From now on, Myeloma Canada will refer patients to the Fondation québécoise du cancer‘s Ligne Info-cancer when they use Myeloma Canada’s new MC Assistance program for general information requests. With the addition of its MC Assistance program, Myeloma Canada will offer a specialized information service on the disease, treatments, research and resources available to all those affected by myeloma in Canada. Anyone living in Quebec will also be able to consult oncology professionals easily and free of charge. At the same time, the Fondation québécoise du cancer will be referring patients to Myeloma Canada’s new MC Assistance service: patients with myeloma in active treatment who wish to learn more about treatment options and participate in clinical research.

“This strategic partnership demonstrates our commitment to strengthening the capabilities of our ecosystem in order to facilitate access to support and accompaniment for even more people affected by cancer. By developing partnerships like this one, we are helping to create an environment conducive to the well-being of patients, their loved ones and the community,” said Marco Décelles, Executive Director of the Fondation québécoise du cancer.
