There are a number of tax-effective ways you can support us:
Gifts in wills
By leaving a gift to Myeloma Canada in your will, you can help us in our commitment to improve the lives of Canadians impacted by myeloma.
In 2000, the life expectancy of a person with myeloma was three to five years. Thanks to breakthroughs in research and the development of new, innovative drug therapies and treatments, the average life expectancy of someone with myeloma has increased, with many living 10 years or longer. Your bequest could help advance research and bring us one step closer toward a cure.
For more information or to notify us that you have named Myeloma Canada as a beneficiary in your will, please contact Muriel Ingrassia at [email protected].
Gift of securities
A gift of shares, stocks, or securities is an easy and cost-effective way to support Myeloma Canada and our Canadian myeloma community.
Supporting charitable organizations is a valued and respected part of our Canadian society. To encourage the gift of shares, the federal government has simplified the process by removing capital gains tax on shares and stocks donated.
Donate your shares to Myeloma Canada in a simple electronic transfer. Once received, we immediately issue a tax receipt for the fair market value. If deductions cannot be used for that calendar year, you can carry the remainder over the next five years.
If shares have appreciated in value at the time of transfer to Myeloma Canada, you pay no tax on the gain in value and still receive a charitable tax receipt for the highest value of the shares.
Consult your financial advisor to learn more about donating your shares, stocks, or securities to Myeloma Canada. You can also contact Muriel Ingrassia at [email protected] for more information.

Employer matched giving is an easy and exciting way to get your workplace and colleagues involved in supporting our cause.
